$40 billion in development of alternative energy
The Swedish and Japan investors are ready to invest about $40 billion in development of alternative energy sources in Ukraine, and also in ecological projects.
In opinion of Timoshenko, realization of investment projects will allow to reform the national economy. For Japan the Ukraine can become a base country for realization of investments in our entire region. Unlike many other countries, transparent relations in the system of investments appear", - the prime minister of Ukraine considers.
Timoshenko declared also, that Ukraine is interested in participation of the Japanese capital in privatization of thermal electric power plants and creation of joint ventures in industry of thermal energy generation. In addition, according to its story, a government is ready to assist to realization of projects on the use of energy a sun and wind.
As reported before Timoshenko intends to visit Japan and conduct in Tokyo the negotiations with a government in relation to bringing in Ukraine the Japanese investments.
26 September 2008 – Ukraine's parliament passed The Law "On amendments to the laws of Ukraine "On electricity" and "On alternative sources of energy" introducing a feed-in tariff for renewable and alternative energy. This law creates a special Green tariff for electricity generated at the power plants with use of alternative energy sources. The law obliges electricity market to purchase electricity generated at the power plants with use of alternative sources of energy through special green tariffs for 10 years period and may be prolonged for 15-20 years. This decision would ensure investment attraction into renewable energy market of Ukraine. Ukraine has made a significant step forward for strengthening energy security and independence.
The Coordinator of the Swedish company BiogazProm Bo Ronander declared that the Swedish companies are ready to realize projects on energy effectiveness and building of enterprises on processing of domestic garbage in Ukraine - yellow-blue project.
He marked that in these projects his company are ready to invest in the flow of 2 years about 20 billion euro.
The Swedish agency of international cooperation in area of development (Sida) intends to give to Ukraine about $74 million of technical help in 2009-2013 years.
