76 units of the V90 3 MW turbine for two projects in Romania

Vestas has received an order for a total of 76 units of the V90 3 MW turbine for two projects in Romania. The contract calls for the supply and installation of the turbines as well as a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution and a five-year service agreement. The first turbines are expected to be installed by the end of 2009. This news follows a 200-MW order for another project in Romania earlier this year.

The order has been placed by EDP Renováveis, the third largest wind energy operator in Europe and the fourth largest operator in the world. This news follows a 200-MW order for another project in Romania that Vestas received earlier this year.

“We are very pleased with this order from EDP Renováveis, which is the result of a well-established relationship between the two companies. In the currently challenging economic and financial scenario, it is very important to receive this sign of confidence in our products and our technology from a leading company like EDP Renováveis,” said Juan Araluce, president of Vestas Mediterranean.
